Troy is out of town this week. As much as I miss him and getting a break from the kids when he gets home from work, it is nice to do nothing. I do no cooking and very little cleaning and any type of schedule is thrown out the window. My kids love having cereal for breakfast and dinner. All except Coleman, he doesn't like cold cereal. I LOVE cereal and have no idea where he came from. Oh well, he will have to learn to like it someday or he will be very hungry.
It is also nice when the days go fast. Yesterday I went with my mom to ride the frontrunner train and the the Kids Museum at Gateway. It was fun and my boys were in heaven. Coleman would not stop saying "choo-choo". And yes it was cute for the first five minutes, but the ride was 20 minutes the long. Towards the end it started to sound like nails on a chalkboard and the kid sitting behind us politely put his ipod in his ears and didn't say anything. We had to walk a couple of blocks to the museum through the industrial part of town. Jackson and Walker would run as fast as they could when we got close to an intersection so they could push the button for the walk signal. They seriously started fighting and crying when they lost. (It is amazing what my kids fight over.) And so we had to take the same approach we have with elevators, they had to take turns pushing the buttons. It was a great day and we all had lots of fun. When we got home we had to go to the grocery store. It is a feat I don't attempt much since the arrival of Landon. Going to the store with 4 boys is a complete joke and I always leave with such high hopes but come home mad and frustrated. Usually I just email Troy a list and he picks stuff up on the way home. But we were out of milk, kind of a big deal when all we eat is cereal. Anyway, we are picking up a few things and we pass the macaroni and cheese. For those of you with kids you know you can get different characters with macaroni. Another thing my kids LOVE to fight over. It is amazing how two kids from the same family can have such different tastes. They argued about getting spongebob or spiderman macaroni for 2 minutes. I finally just bought one of each because I was too tired to care. So I thought I was giving them a treat when I just mixed both together so for dinner they would each get some that they wanted. Oh no, apparently you can't mix and match because they got mad when they had Patrick or spiderwebs in their bowl. Needless to say my kids were in bed at 7:30. Troy comes home tomorrow, but I am not counting or anything.
